Vincent Commisa has more than two decades of experience in civil and bankruptcy litigation, specializing in the representation of secured lenders in foreclosure proceedings, corporate bankruptcy proceedings, and individuals in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 proceedings. He has represented business debtors in Chapter 11 proceedings.
Mr. Commisa’s practice also involves collateral issues with adversary proceedings, such as non-dischargeability litigation, involvement in matrimonial proceedings, commercial litigation, and pre-bankruptcy work-outs.
The balance of Mr. Commisa’s practice involves residential and commercial real estate, commercial litigation, Federal and State taxation, and representation of lenders in commercial transactions. His clients include privately and publicly held corporations, private lenders, and nonprofit corporations.
Mr. Commisa is a United States Military Academy Liaison Officer (MALO) and a member of West Point’s Admissions/Field Force, where he is the 9th Congressional District Coordinator (CDC). He is an active participant in the admissions process at the United States Military Academy at West Point and is a member of the Interview Board for Service Academy Nominations for Senator Frank Lautenberg, Senator Robert Menendez, and Congressman Steven Rothman. He is a guest lecturer at West Point, and is a member of the Friends of West Point, an affiliate of the West Point Society of New Jersey.
Mr. Commisa is responsible for planning West Point/ROTC By Invite, an event at Seton Hall University which attracts Candidates for admission to West Point and ROTC colleges and universities. He has co-authored the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the West Point By-Invite. He supervises the Cadet Public Relations Counsel (CPRC) for Northern and Central New Jersey. CPRC conducts Candidate orientation visits, hometown visits, and special trips for West Point Cadets in the area of public relations.
Mr. Commisa holds a B.A. from Lehigh University and a J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and participates in the Debtor/Creditor and Military Law and Veterans’ Affairs Sections.
